I am Susan Adamson and my journey as a professional designer began nearly two decades ago.
In 1995, my husband and I made a life changing decision to get out of the hustle and bustle of the Twin Cities and move up to the North Woods of Minnesota. Having visited the Lakes Area for many years we felt it had a need for an art gallery that would offer a variety of unique and meaningful pieces that visitors could enjoy when they returned home taking fond memories with them.
Our Artistic Pursuit
Richard and I criss crossed the continent looking for artists that created beautiful furnishings, lighting, hand woven rugs, pots, sculpture and fabrics. As a result, our collection of offerings became one of the finest in the Midwest and our intended gallery soon blossomed into a full service design studio.
During the next decade we were privileged to work on amazing timber, log and craftsman homes providing furnishings, art and accessories to complement the architecture it represented. We found the world of rugs, fabrics, canvas paintings, etc. is vast and has a myriad of choices. Every step of the way we became more educated in the history of a design, be it a Navajo rug or a Molesworth inspired leather, burled and tooled piece that would become a sofa or chair.
Over the years our customer base grew and we found ourselves working with customers in their homes from the east to west of our wonderful country, all folks who found us by visiting our gallery in Nisswa MN. It was a very busy time!
Our New Home in the SouthWest
We made another life changing decision to relocate in the South West and found ourselves in Arizona. We sold the Nisswa Gallery and I have been offering my services for interior design in Chandler, Sun Lakes, Phoenix, etc. on a consulting basis for the last decade. Again my clients come from all over the country to enjoy their retirement or vacation homes. I enjoy working with Southwest influences, saltillo and talverna products work well in complementing plank flooring, clay roofing, stone walls and timber architecture.
It is a passion, an art and my life’s endeavor to bring beautiful interiors to the homes of my clients to share with their friends and family for years to come.
